JOHN DOUGERY

John has been a VC since 1997 and co-founded Inventus with Kanwal in 2007 to help Silicon Valley founders pursue the lean startup model.

John has backed several dozen Founding teams resulting in 8 liquidity events with two IPOs.  At Inventus he’s on the boards of Activity Hero, Credit Sesame, FarFaria, Motivo.ai, Resilinc, and SysCloud, as was a board member at Vivu (ACQ: Polycom), Dhingana (ACQ: rd.io), Spotzot (ACQ: Valassis), and Sokrati (ACQ: Dentsu).  

 

For a decade prior to co-founding Inventus, John was part of the founding team and Managing Director with Scale Ventures (fka BA Ventures) where he had co-invested with Kanwal behind several startups. Prior to venture, John worked for category leading Silicon Valley companies including Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics.

A San Francisco native, John earned both an MBA and BA from U.C. Berkeley, and has been a Charter Member of TiE.
